Cornelius Borgolte, born in 1966 in Wattenscheid, is a freelance composer. He studied at the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen and was subsequently engaged as a clarinettist at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein. Since 2004 he has devoted himself intensively to incidental music and has received commissions from the Bayerisches Staatsschauspiel, Deutsches Theater Berlin, Deutsches Schauspielhaus in Hamburg, Staatstheater Stuttgart, Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus, Schauspiel Frankfurt, Schauspielhaus Zürich and Odyssee Theatre Los Angeles, among others. He has worked with directors Karin Henkel, Amélie Niermeyer, Daniela Löffner, Jana Vetten and directors Stephan Rottkamp, Rafael Sanchez, Lars Ole Walburg and Anselm Weber, among others. Robert Gerloff and Cornelius Borgolte have been working together continuously since 2013.
