Sanne Danz studied sculpture at the Minerva University of the Arts in Groningen and at the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam. In 1989 she was a finalist in the Prix de Rome. Her works were part of the Dutch exhibition at the Prague Quadriennale in 2003 and 2007 and were shown at the Netherlands Architecture Institute, among others. Sanne Danz also works as an exhibition designer and teaches at various art academies. In addition to many world premieres and experimental theatre pieces, she has designed the sets for The Threepenny Opera, Oblomov, Carmen and the award-winning production Once upon a forest at the Childrens’ Theatre Company in Minneapolis. In Germany, she designed Kasimir und Karoline in Heidelberg in 1997, Rusalka in Dortmund in 2010 and Die Entführung aus dem Serail at the Aalto Theatre in Essen.
