
Romy Vreden, born in 1994 in Rotterdam, studied Musical Theatre from 2010 to 2014 and Acting from 2015 to 2019 at the Academy of Theatre and Dance in Amsterdam. In 2018 she appeared in KIDS, a co-production of Toneelgroep Oostpool and Theatre Sonnevanck, and also performed as a soloist at the Opera Forward Festival. From 2019 to 2023 she was a member of the ensemble at Schauspielhaus Bochum. In 2021, together with her theatre collective Johnny come lately, she was appointed as one of the Nieuwkomers at Orkater, a Dutch music theatre company. Within this collaboration, she developed her own production Ruimteplaat in 2023 and also performed in Groundfloor and Stepping Stones that same year. In 2025 she played the role of Carol in the Dutch premiere of Anatomy of a Suicide by Alice Birch. That year, the Dutch newspaper NRC named her a rising star of the theatre. Romy Vreden is also known to television audiences for her role as Lena Preser in the ARD series WaPo Duisburg. In the 2025/2026 season, she will appear in Das große Heft at Schauspielhaus Bochum.
