Shathp is an electronic improvisation duo, consisting of the Swiss-Bolivian sound artist Rafael Espinoza and the Dresden-based multi-instrumentalist Torsten Lang and founded in Berlin in 2017. It emerged as an additional creative outlet to their bands Excessive Visage, Grimeny and Dino Joubert, which otherwise belong to the experimental rock and pop field.

Torsten Lang studied music and media at IMM Düsseldorf. As a solo musician and with his bands, he has released almost 30 albums from 2008 until today. Additionally, as a music producer, he has worked with numerous artists for over 10 years.

Rafael Espinoza studied sound engineering at the SAE in Zurich after training as a wood sculptor. He has an international network and has been on tour and in the studio with American musicians such as Samuel Hope, Marlon Browden, Vernon D Hill and Lowry. At Schauspielhaus Bochum he worked as a composer, musician and sound designer for the productions Volksverräter!!, Die kleine Meerjungfrau andfor the video installation Traumfresserchen in the 2017/2018 season.
