Kathrine Altaparmakov, born 1986 in Düsseldorf, studied Fine Arts and stage design at the College of Fine Arts in Hamburg and at the Danish National School of Performing Arts in Copenhagen. After graduating, she worked as a stage and costume assistant at Thalia Theater, Deutsches Schauspielhaus Hamburg and Theater Bremen among others with Florian Lösche, Stéphane Laimé, Alex Eales, Duri Bischoff, Ene-Liis Semper and Peter Baur. Meanwhile, she developed her own works and spatial concepts. She is working as a freelance stage and costume designer for state theatres as well as in the independent scene. Projects have taken her to Junges Schauspielhaus Düsseldorf, monsun.theater Hamburg, Theater Münster, Theater Konstanz or Staatstheater Hannover, amongst others. At Theater der Welt in 2017 she was part of the design team and for the festival Hauptsache Frei she invented a mobile festival centre. In 2018 the production Wenn wir tanzen, summt die Welt (director: Cora Sachs, monsun.theater) was awarded Rolf Mares Theatre Prize in the category »Outstanding Staging«. Weg vom Fenster is her first production at Theaterrevier.
