David Goldmann, born in Steinheim in Westphalia, studied cultural studies in Hildesheim as well as theatre studies and media studies at the Ruhr University in Bochum. He took saxophone and piano lessons as a child, sang in various choirs and later learnt guitar and bass. From 2018, he worked as a freelance assistant director and production manager at various venues such as the Rottstr-5-Theater, Theater Oberhausen and Junge Bühne Bochum and completed directing internships, for example with Herbert Fritsch. Since the 2020/2021 season, he has been a permanent assistant director at Schauspielhaus Bochum, where he has worked, among others, with Johan Simons, Tom Schneider, Lies Pauwels and Liesbeth Coltof.
