Lennard Walter studied Performing Arts and Art Studies at the Braunschweig University of Art and the Master's programme Staging the Arts and Media at the University of Hildesheim. In his final thesis, he investigated the staging of digital social practices in theatre works with non-professional players. Parallel to his studies, Lennard Walter worked as a freelance theatre educator for the Tempus fugit theatre, the TPZ Braunschweig and the Bundestreffen Jugendclubs an Theatern. He also created theatre works in various independent collectives that dealt with cultural phenomena such as DIY, online ratings and allotment garden associations. These have been performed at the LOT-Theater Braunschweig, the State of the Art Festival, Theaterhaus Hildesheim and the Staatstheater Braunschweig, among others. His production Sex Education with non-professional players at Stellwerk Weimar was invited to the Theatertreffen der Jugend 2022.
Since the 2021/2022 season, Lennard Walter has been working as an assistant director at the Junges Schauspielhaus Bochum. Here he has worked with Wera Mahne, Martina von Boxen, Barbara Kölling and the Henrike Iglesias theatre collective, among others. In January 2024, his first own work at the Junges Schauspielhaus follows with the premiere of performance DRuCK. In March 2024, Woyzeck_a true crime story will be his second work at Stellwerk Weimar.
