Jana Marie Kuhlemeier is a trained bespoke tailor, studied costume design at Hanover University of Applied Sciences and Arts and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts with honours in 2020. Before and during her studies, she worked as an intern at Sasha Waltz & Guests, the Burgtheater Vienna and the Niedersächsisches Staatstheater Hannover. She also worked for two seasons as a costume assistant and costume designer at the Theater der jungen Welt in Leipzig. Here she designed the costumes for Wuchs by Alfredo Zinola and Micaela Kühn Jara as well as Lenchens Geheimnis and Der Katze ist es ganz egal by Katja Lehmann. She has been a permanent costume design assistant at Schauspielhaus Bochum since the 2023/24 season
