Marijke Pinoy, born 1958 in Menen (Belgium), studied drama at the Ghent Conservatory. At the end of the 80s, she toured internationally with the movement theatre collective Pantarei. She has worked for various companies, including Theater Zuidpool as an actress, director and as a member of the artistic team, De Werf, Arca, Theater Malpertuis, Cie Cecilia as co-founder and actress, FC Bergman, Action Zoo Humain and NTGent. As an actress she also worked in film and TV. She also works as a director and festival curator. She has performed at several major festivals, including in Avignon, Paris, Lausanne, Reims, Lille and Berlin. At the Schauspielhaus Bochum she can be seen in the production Orest in Mossul directed by Milo Rau in the 2018/19 season.
