Franz Dittrich, born in 1982 in Offenbach am Main, studied stage design at the HfG Offenbach and sculpting at the HfbK Hamburg, where he was awarded a scholarship from the German National Academic Foundation. During his studies, he worked as a stage designer at the state theatres in Wiesbaden and Darmstadt, Schauspiel Kiel and the state theatres in Esslingen and Neuss. After graduating, he initially worked as an assistant stage designer at the Schauspielhaus in Hamburg, where he was involved in many major productions and assisted many great stage designers.
He has worked with directors such as Claudia Bauer, Ulrich Rasche and Arpad Schilling at Schauspiel Bonn, the Residenztheater in Munich and the Sächsisches Staatsschauspiel in Dresden.
Franz Dittrich has worked as a project manager at Studio Hamburg since 2021. He was in charge of the construction of the decorations for the bets for the big comeback of the programme Wetten Dass and the expansion of the auditorium for the musical Moulin Rouge in the Musical Dome in Cologne.
