Stephanie van Batum, born in 1988 in Leeuwarden (Netherlands), studied aesthetics, cultural and media studies at the University of Groningen, completed her bachelor's degree in theatre studies at the University of Amsterdam and studied theatre direction at the Otto Falckenberg Schule in Munich from 2013 to 2017. She worked both as a performer and as a director. Her performance 5 Minutes Of Fame premiered at the UWE Festival at the Theaterakademie August Everding in Munich. In 2016 she realized PONY CAMP: Troilus & Cressida, which premiered at Einstein Kultur München and was subsequently shown at the Münchner Kammerspiele, the Thalia Theater and the Shakespeare Festival in Neuss. Her final performance at the Otto Falckenberg Schule Don't Worry Be Yoncé was shown at the Münchner Kammerspiele in 2017, was invited to the Radikal jung festival in Munich and will be permanently included in the programme of Schauspielhaus Bochum for the 2018/2019 season.

Stephanie van Batum passed away on 13 August 2023 at the age of 34.
