Nicole Timm, born in Berlin in 1973, studied costume and stage design at the Berlin University of the Arts after completing an apprenticeship as a tailor. She works as a costume and stage designer for theatre, opera, dance, film and interventions in public space. She has created theatre and opera works with directors such as Milan Peschel, Vegard Vinge, Tom Kühnel, the director and video artist Katja Czellnik and the Swiss performance collective Schauplatz International, which were shown at the Hebbel am Ufer Theatre, at the Volksbühne am Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz, the Deutsches Theater Berlin, the Schaubühne, the Komische Oper, the Deutsche Oper, the Schauspielhaus Bochum, the Residenztheater and at various theatres in Austria, Switzerland, Denmark, France, Spain and Cameroon. Together with the architect collective raumlaborberlin, Nicole Timm has worked on various projects in public spaces, including Berlin, Rostock, Austria, England and the USA. During the 2019/2020 season she will do the costume design for the production of Stories from the Viennese Forest at Schauspielhaus Bochum directed by Karin Henkel.
