Joanna Scotcher is a production designer based in London, working in the UK and internationally. She was trained in Stage Design at The Royal Shakespeare Company and received the Whatsonstage Best Set Designer Award for her site specific design of The Railway Children, which went on to win the Olivier Award for Best Entertainment in 2011. Her design projects have taken her from sets for fashion, performances, site-specific theater and live television broadcasts. Her work includes commissions by the RSC, Old Vic, Channel 4 Arts, Kensington Palace, Covent Garden, European Olympic Committee and Unicef UK. Her recent theatre work includes productions at the Young Vic, Royal Court, Manchester Royal Exchange and the Abbey Theatre Dublin. Her design work has been exhibited at the V&A Museum’s ‘From Gaga to Gormley’ and the Royal Academy for Arts. She is Associate Designer for the multi-award winning theatre company LookLeftLookRight. At Schauspielhaus Bochum she does the stage and costume design for the production Die unglaubliche Geschichte vom kleinen Roboterjungen in the 2019/2020 season.
