Markus Schabbing, born 1989 in Ahaus, completed his training from 2009 to 2012 at the Joop van den Ende Academy for Drama, Dance and Singing in Hamburg. Immediately afterwards he performed at the Landestheater Schleswig-Holstein and participated in the production Wir sind nochmal davon gekommen at the Thalia Theater. This was followed by an engagement at the Theater des Westens in the German premiere of Gefährten. Subsequently Markus made his London West End debut in the award-winning theatre production War Horse at the Royal National Theatre. From 2016 to 2017 he appeared in the Austrian premiere of The Addams Family in Vienna and in Hinterm Horizont at the Operettenhaus in Hamburg. At the same time he was responsible for a stage design, lighting and movement design for the premiere of Dumpfbacke at the Dschungel Theater in Vienna. In 2018 he worked for the first time with the London Theater Company Theatre Rites for the Ruhrtriennale, in the production The Welcoming Party. He then went on a world tour with Cirque du Soleil's Toruk - The First Flight. He also graduated from the London Curious School of Puppetry. In addition to his work on stage, he works as an illustrator. His clients include the Volkstheater in Vienna and UFA Fiction.
