Anna Pocher, born 1953 in Turin (Italy), studied art and art history as a teacher at the Accademia Albertina delle Belle Arti Turin and received her dance education from Susanna Egri. Since then she has been a dancer, choreographer, actress for drama, opera, music theatre and dance at the Teatro Regio Turin, Bremer Tanztheater 1980/1986, the BRDANCE Festival, Neuer Tanz NRW 1990/91 and at the Schauspielhaus Bochum under the direction of Frank Patrick Steckel in the dance theatre company of Reinhild Hoffmann. There she worked as a performer and choreographer with Andrei Serban, Stein Wing, Johannes Schütz, Leander Hausmann and Jürgen Gosch. She has also worked on projects with the Bochumer Symphoniker at the Kunstmuseum Bochum and the Audimax of the Ruhr University Bochum. From 1990 until 2019 she was a lecturer for movement, body awareness and role-playing at the Westfälische Schauspielschule Bochum at the Folkwang Universität der Künste. She staged and choreographed dance theatre pieces for students of the Folkwang University and the Hochschule für Schauspielkunst Ernst Busch in Berlin. She has exhibited her own performances among others at the Bedburg-Hau Psychiatric Clinic.
