Marcus Melzwig, born 1979 in Leipzig, studied acting at the Academy of Music and Theatre Rostock from 2002 to 2007. Already during his studies he was a member of the ensemble at the Volkstheater Rostock. From 2009 on, various guest engagements followed at the Volkstheater Rostock, the Gerhart-Hauptmann-Theater Görlitz-Zittau, the Berliner Ensemble, the Theater Junge Generation Dresden, the Theater Oberhausen and the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. During his studies he founded the singing trio Muttis Kinder with his fellow students Claudia Graue and Christopher Nell. From 2007 to 2019, they regularly performed their programmes nationally and internationally in theatres as well as on cabaret stages and festivals. The trio has received numerous prizes and awards.
