Matthias Buss, born 1967 in Metelen, trained as a hairdresser, then studied Dutch and English language and literature and later applied cultural studies in Hildesheim. Afterwards he worked as an actor with the group Theater ASPIK, as well as at independent theaters in Münster, Hildesheim and Hannover. From 1999 to 2004 Matthias Buss was a member of the Lucerne Theater ensemble, where he collaborated with directors René Pollesch, Sebastian Baumgarten, Monika Gintersdorfer and Jarg Pataki. In 2004 he moved to the Schauspiel Hannover where he worked with Nicolas Stemann, Christoph Frick, Florian Fiedler, Barbara Bürk/Clemens Sienknecht and Lars-Ole Walburg. Since 2009 Buss has been working as a freelance actor, among others at the Theater Freiburg, Schauspiel Dresden and at the Berliner Volksbühne, where he appeared in the Herbert-Fritsch productions Murmel Murmel and Ohne Titel Nr. 1, which were invited to the Berliner Theatertreffen in 2013 and 2014. He also regularly shoots for film and television. He can be seen at the Schauspielhaus Bochum in the 2018/19 season in Murmel Murmel by Herbert Fritsch.
