Kat Heß (born 1993) studied Scenic Arts in Hildesheim (B.A.) and Scenic Research (M.A.) in Bochum. In their own artistic practice, Heß deals with queer strategies of representation. Among others, in 2022 with the autobiographical work They see them rollin', which deals with the interplay of gender identity and sport, as well as Queer Landshaping (2022) a queer audio walk project with young people from Bochum-Langendreer. Kat Heß is part of the artist collective MAXIMA.

Heß has been working at the Junges Schauspielhaus since the beginning of 2022. There, Heß works together with Drama Control, the children and youth supervisory board of the Junges Schauspielhaus, devises workshops and mediation offers and, together with Drama Control, thinks participation in children's and youth theatre further. Heß also directs youth projects, e.g. HoHoHoes - A draggy merry Christmas (2023), Bespiel mal Bochum (2022) and Glue Sparkle Spit (2022). In the 2023/2024 season, Heß is working as a dramaturge for DRuCK.
