Anne Kulbatzki, born into a working-class family in East Berlin in 1988, was a student at Sunnhordland Teaterlinje in Norway and a member of the youth theatre P14 (Volksbühne Berlin). She studied performing arts at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna. She was awarded the solo prize at the Schauspielschultreffen 2014 for Maggie T. (by Nolte Decar, directed by Matthias Rippert), the production also received the ensemble and audience prizes. Since then she has worked as a freelance actress and author for theatre, film and radio plays. Together with the corresponding teams, she has been invited to the Autor*innentheatertage 2020, the ARD Hörspieltage 2022, the International Film Festival Berlin 2023, the Sundance International Film Festival 2023 and other festivals.
Anne Kulbatzki has performed at the Deutsches Theater Berlin, Schauspielhaus Wien, Deutsches Schauspielhaus Hamburg, Kosmostheater Wien and Residenztheater München. Here she was a permanent ensemble member in 2017 to 2019. Significant collaborations connect her to Milena Michalek, Jan Koslowski, Sahba Sahebi, Moritz Geiser and Sophia Mocorrea. Anne Kulbatzki had her authorial debut in February 2022 with the production MÖWE (directed by Sarah Viktoria Frick, Berliner Ensemble).
