Nina von Mechow, born 1969 in Gießen, studied stage design and costume at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste Dresden, the Kunsthochschule Berlin Weißensee and the Hochschule für Film und Fernsehen Konrad Wolf in Potsdam. In 1999 she assisted Bert Neumann at the Volksbühne am Rosa Luxemburg Platz, with whom she worked as a costume designer in the following years. She worked as a costume designer with numerous theatre directors including Karin Henkel, Johan Simons, René Pollesch and Leander Haußmann. She designed costumes for Leander Haußmann's movie Herr Lehmann and for René Pollesch's television series 24 Stunden sind kein Tag. During the 2018/2019 season, her stage design can be seen at Schauspielhaus Bochum in Johan Simon's stagings of Penthesilea and Plattform.
