Tom Schneider, born 1966 in Schlema, is a director and musician. From 2000 to 2004 he was employed as assistant director and theatre musician at Theater Basel. From 2004 he worked as a director at the Theater Basel, the Theater Heidelberg, the Musik-Akademie Basel, the Theater Freiburg, the Opera Metz and the Münchner Kammerspiele. From 2007 to 2012 he worked as a director and musician in the artistic direction of pvc Tanz Freiburg/Heidelberg. In 2012 he founded the independent theatre/dance group OFF deluxe in Freiburg. At the Theater Neumarkt he staged, among other productions, Bilder deiner großen Liebe by Wolfgang Herrndorf with Sandra Hüller in the leading role, which was shown as a guest performance at Schauspielhaus Bochum in the 2018/19 season. Together with Sandra Hüller, Tom Schneider is active in the FARN. collective, whose work The Shape of Trouble to Come was shown at Schauspielhaus Bochum. Schneider has also staged Die Hydra, Am laufenden Band and in the 2024/25 season Frankenstein at Schauspielhaus Bochum.
