*1981 in Venray, Netherlands, Esther van de Pas trained as an art teacher at the University of the Arts in Arnhem. She then studied stage and costume design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Maastricht and worked for two years as a costume and stage design assistant at Schauspielhaus Bochum. Since 2010, she has worked freelance at various theatres in Germany, including Theater Aachen, Hans Otto Theater Potsdam, Staatstheater Dresden, Staatstheater Kassel, Comedia Theater Köln, Theater Freiburg and Schauspielhaus Bochum, as well as in the Netherlands. Here she often realises performance projects at the interface between visual arts and theatre that take place in public spaces. She has been part of the independent collective Junge Bühne Bochum since 2018. She also works as a visual arts lecturer at the Maastricht Institute Of Art - Hogeschool Zuyd.
