Victor IJdens, born in 1994 in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, studied at the Academy for Theatre and Cabaret (ATKA) in Amsterdam in 2016. He received the ITs Festival Award upon graduation. He has performed on Dutch stages in acclaimed productions such as Het lijden van de jonge Werther and Weg met Eddy Bellegueule, both directed by Eline Arbo. For his Werther, he won the first Frans Lommerse scholarship for young talents in 2019. The four players in Eddy Bellegueule were collectively nominated by the Dutch theatre association VSCD in 2020 for the best male lead of the year. Victor co-founded the young theatre collective Konvooi in 2016, which has attracted attention with exciting musical theatre pieces based on literary works, including Bulgakov's The Master and Margarita. He has appeared in films and television series, most recently in the series De Joodse Raad (The Jewish Council), which was honoured with the two most important Dutch television awards in 2024. Victor has been a member of the Bochum ensemble since 2021. He has performed in very different plays under different directors. Children of the Sun (Maxim Gorky, directed by Mateja Koležnik), in which he played Vagin, received an invitation to the Theatertreffen Berlin 2023. In The Brothers Karamazov, directed by Johan Simons, Victor played Dimitrij. He was also responsible for the music for Karamazov, as well as for Das Leben ein Traum, a guest production by Johan Simons at the Thalia Theatre Hamburg. In addition to his acting and musical work, Victor hosts the mixtape evenings at the Oval Office in Bochum.
