The Japanese composer and percussionist Midori Takada released a series of pioneering albums in the 1980s, the style of which is often associated with the so-called minimalists around Steve Reich or Terry Riley. Takada's music draws its inspiration from African and Asian music cultures and expands these by jazz influences and the early ambient approaches of Brian Eno. Her long lost masterpiece Through The Looking Glass was re-released in 2017. In Bochum she will play one of only two concerts in Germany in 2018.
